ImageWhich New Year’s resolution haven’t I kept? Why? How will I redouble my efforts to achieve my goal?

Eek Plinky, this sounds like an interrogation. Well, I need to figure the “which” first…

The 14th century word evolved from the Middle English resolucioun, in turn from its Anglo-French usage which in turn came from Latin resolution-resolutio,

Let’s go about the “which” is the first usage of the word the act or process of resolving. I have kept this one up that is act of answering. The act of determining, well determine what? The next one is so complicated that I can’t figure what it means.—the passing of a voice part from a dissonant to a consonant tone or the progression of dissonance to consonance, — I guess I have not analyzed this complex notion into simpler one, that is one resolution not met.

The separation of a chemical compound or mixture to its constituents?  Not done, reason I am out of the chem. Lab.

The division of a prosodic element into its components parts—the substitution in Greek or Latin prosody of two short syllables for a long syllable, not done, what the hell does prosodic mean, I know Prozac! But prosodic is unresolved mystery to me.

Vector analysis, not resolved, Zeus, this is not part of the New job.

The subsidence of a pathological state, like inflammation, it is against work ethics to discuss this.

The formal expression of opinion will, or intent voted by an official body or assembled group—irrelevant again.

The point in a literary work at which the chief dramatic complication is worked out

The process or capability of making distinguishable the individual parts of an object, closely adjacent optical images, or sources of light

a measure of the sharpness of an image or of the fineness with which a device (as a video display, printer, or scanner) can produce or record such an image usually expressed as the total number or density of pixels in the image <a resolution of 1200

I guess this one was what Plinky really wanted—something that is resolved—example made a resolution of mend my ways—and wants to test the firmness of the resolution

To be frank, Chuck Palahniuk got it right in survivor, no one wants their lives fixed, neither do I, nobody wants their problem solved. Their dramas, their distraction, their stories resolved, their messes cleaned up because what would they have left? Just the big scary unknown.

Like Anais Nin, I made no resolutions for the New Year, the habit of making plans, of criticizing, sanction and moulding life is too much of a daily event.

This year round I plan to keep things very simple and I have honoured it.

  • Count my blessings and thank the Lord for it.
  • Do whatever I did last year, doing it better,
  • One day at time.
  • Creating my opportunities and honouring them.
  • Believing in myself.
  • Quitting is not an option, if something does not work, then I make it work.
  • Carrying things through.
