Is it really okay?
Well that depends on what is okay… right.
Okay spelt as OK, or O.K. could be approval, acceptance, agreement assent or acknowledgement. It could also be acknowledgement without approval. Somewhere this word reminds me of a potato. I mean we can go anywhere with it.
This is okay to send out.. Translates to adequate.. it’s an adjective. But mere adequacy is never adequate.. I mean it is not okay to okay one has to be more than okay.
This is okay to send out.. Could- translate to acceptance..Again adjective.
This costume is okay… Here okay denotes mediocre. But is it really okay? Do you know the hallmark of a second rater? Its resentment of another man’s achievement. Those touchy mediocrities who sit trembling lest someone’s work would prove greater than their own.. Have no inkling of the loneliness that comes when you reach the top. The loneliness for an equal, for a mind o respect and an achievement to admire. They bare their teeth at you from out of their rat holes thinking that you take pleasure in letting your brilliance dim them- while you’d give a year of my life to see a flicker of talent anywhere among them. they envy achievement, and their dream of greatness is a world where all men have become acknowledged inferiors. They don’t know that the dream is the infallible proof of mediocrity, because that sort of world is what the man of achievement would not be able to bear. They have no way of knowing what he feels when surrounded by inferiors…hatred? Not really but boredom? Maybe the terrible, hopeless draining paralyzing boredom. Of what account are praise and adulation from men whom don’t respect? Have ever felt the longing for someone you could admire? For something, not to look down at but up to? So is meritocracy okay?
What is interesting is that sometimes, with the right pause at the pace it can reflect the mood and intent of the speaker. Have you heard the sense of resignation in the okay…well that’s not okay… okay meaning I’ll consider it, or its mediocre is still okay
Then there is the “Okay I will do it” the interjection, it can denote complaisance.
Or the okay that means assent,
Think about it, okay maybe is a euphemism of love… I know its a okay-ish thing to say, but hear me out or rather read me out
Deep breathe …okay (used as here goes) love is made up of three unconditional properties in equal measure…okay (I mean did you get it? with me on the same page)
- .We know this okay from…it’s okay to send this out.
- .. the Okay we utter when we oh! Now I see.
- . We know from this is okay type the final draft….
Okay now remove any one of the three and the triangle falls apart, though doing so is not kind of okay, I mean do we really want to live in a world of only two dimensions?
There is a huge thing about this word out there among linguists but that is not my concern https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OK
If you anything to add, You are welcome but please do so it the comment column okay
