Having abundant possession especially material wealth. Though coming to think about it, being rich is not about how much money you have or how many homes you own; it’s the freedom to buy any book you want without looking at the price and wondering if you can afford it. Imagine being like the Kite Runner from Khaled Hosseini’s book, the story about the man who found a magic cup and learned that if he wept into the cup, his tears turned into pearls. But even though he had always been poor, he was a happy man and rarely shed a tear. So he found ways to make himself sad so that his tears could make him rich. As the pearls piled up, so did his greed grow. The story ended with the man sitting on a mountain of pearls, knife in hand, weeping helplessly into the cup with his beloved wife’s slain body in his arms.” Actually we are rich not by what we possess but by what we can do without.
Rich… in value and quality… either one perceives it or one does not. When we talk in terms of rich quality there is vibrancy, there is a power to capture and hold. Like at some point one asks, “Toward what end is my life lived?” a great freedom comes from being able to answer that question. A sleeper can be decoyed out of bed by the sheer beauty of dawn on the open seas. Part of my job, as I see it is allowed that happen. Sleepers like me need at some point to rise and take their morning watch for the sake of the planet but also for their own sake, for the enrichment of their lives.
Rich… in magnificently impressive like the mountain ranges of Sahyadri that holds within her the secrets of the planet, the lives that have lived the story of the species that we do not even know exists. Magnificent and impressive e the roaring ocean with myriad range of blue and green nourishing life within it and on its back. Magnificent the roar on top of the mountains peaks of Himalayas as if the wind conversed with the mountain. That is rich and impressive.
Rich… like the vivid and deep color, I always had a doubt that deep colour meant tinge of black or greater number of pigments of the same color per square area maybe I should say density I don’t know J rich isn’t it. Rich in fragrance like the aroma of coffee the waft of which opens closed minds.
Rich… food that is highly seasoned fatty oil, and sweet yet absolutely comforting and luxurious. Ultimate indulgence of a depraved foodies.
Matter how it manifests Rich reminds me of Goddess Lakshmi in her eight forms of abundance. Something that adds value to my life, like I said before it is not being deprived of something it about or possessing things it is the tinge that turns the mundane to blessing.
